This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 12/18/2020 and concluded on 12/28/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 25 children, ages 4 months- 4years, and 5 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records and 3 staff records during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on record review and discussion with staff, the facility failed to ensure that each staff member submit documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening no later than 21 days after employment.
Evidence: The record for Staff #2 did not contain documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening; the documented hire date for Staff #2 was 10/07/2020.Plan of Correction: If the original form cannot be found, the staff member will be required to get a new one.
