This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/8/2020 and concluded on 12/8/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 18 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the annual fire inspection is expired.
Evidence:
The last fire inspection was dated 7/8/2019, the center's fire inspection expired on 7/8/2020.Plan of Correction: We will contact them to find out why they haven't done the inspection and to reschedule it.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on review of emergency drill documentation and interview, it was determined that evacuation drills were incomplete.
Evidence:
The center did not conduct an emergency evacuation drill during the month of July 2020.Plan of Correction: We will make sure that we practice an evacuation drill in addition to a shelter in place drill.
