This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 01/12/2021 and concluded on 01/21/2021. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 35 children present and 11 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children's records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that documentation that each child has received the immunizations required by the State Board of Health was obtained before the child could attend the center.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure each child shall have a physical examination by or under the direction of a physician by or under the direction of a physician before the child's attendance or within once month after attendance.
