This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on January 15, 2021 and concluded on January 22, 2021. The director person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (18) children present and (9) staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (3) children?s records and (3) staff records the facility submitted to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on record review the facility failed to obtain a state Central Registry Search within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Three staff records were reviewed.
2. Staff #2 did not have documentation of a Virginia Central Registry check within 30 days of employment. Date of hire was documented 11/16/2020.
3. Out of State Central Registry was viewed and documented.
4. The assistant director confirmed a Virginia Central Registry check had not been obtained.Plan of Correction: A central registry check for Virginia will be completed immediately. Documentation will be sent to the licensing inspector.
