Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 01/21/2021 and concluded on 01/26/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 42 children present and 7 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on record review, children's records did not contain all required information.
Evidence:
1) The record for Child #1 did not contain the telephone number for an additional designated person to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. The record for Child #3 did not contain the work phone number and place of employment of each parent who has custody.

Plan of Correction: 1. Parent provided second phone number. 2. Work address and phone number provided.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on documentation review, the center did not implement a monthly practice evacuation drill .
Evidence:
1) The emergency drills log for the year 2020 did not document an evacuation (fire) drill for the month of September.

Plan of Correction: Will be sure to document all drills in binder.
