This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 1/13/2021 and concluded on 1/15/2021. The Extended Day Program Director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 18 children present and 5 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on record review, the child day center did not obtain child abuse and neglect findings within 30 days of employment for two staff members.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 and Staff#2's records did not contain child abuse and neglect results.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on staff record review, there is no documentation that a Child Abuse and Neglect check was initiated for an employees that has resided outside the state of Virginia within the last 5 years.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on review of staff records, the center did not obtain a copy of the results of a criminal history record check and sex offender registry check from any state in which the staff member has resided in the preceding five years by the deadline of December 31, 2020.
