This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 2/4/2021 and concluded on 2/4/2021. The administrator was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 33 children present and 9 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on review of three staff files, the facility failed to have documentation of two references prior to hire for each employee. Evidence: Staff 3 (date of hire 11/2/2020) only had documentation of one reference on file. Plan of Correction: Center staff will get another reference for Staff 3.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A Description: Based on staff interview, the facility failed to have a top and bottom cover for each child during rest time. Evidence: the center administrator stated that there was no bottom cover on the mats during rest time. Plan of Correction: The facility will supply top and bottom covers for children during rest time.
