This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on February 4, 2021 and concluded on February 8, 2021. The Program Coordinator was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 23 children present and 7 staff on October 23, 2020, the last operating day. The center is currently closed. . The inspector emailed the Program Coordinator a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on record review and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure that staff had obtained the results of of the fingerprint print check prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence: The record staff #3 had a finger print check dated for 9-19-2019 and the date of the orientation was 9-16-2019 before the finger print check results had been received. Program coordinator confirmed the documented dates of orientation and fingerprint check results.Plan of Correction: Staff will not work until all checks are back.
