Technical Assistance:
Discussed the need for staff to obtain the additional Auvi-Q training prior to enrolling a child with this medication. Staff who have MAT certificates are authorized to administer other epinephrine auto-injectors AFTER receiving additional training in use of the specific auto-injector that they will use. This course may be used to meet this additional training requirement for the Auvi-Q device. You can find this course at: http://mat.medhomeplus.org/mat/

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A Renewal inspection was conducted via Zoom meeting this date. A total of 20 children with 12 staff were on site. A total of 2 children's records, 6 staff records, staff certifications and medication were reviewed virtually. A walk thru of 2 of the 4 classroom was conducted virtually. All children and staff were observed wearing masks and social distancing within the classrooms. The center's protocols for Covid-19 exceed the CDC guidelines. No violations today. Thank you for cooperating with this process. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov with any questions.
