Technical assistance was provided regarding daily health observation training. Standard 240-D-5 states: There shall always be at least one staff member on duty who has obtained within the last three years instruction in performing the daily health observation of children.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/10/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 22 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain the results of a fingerprint based national criminal history background check prior to employment for all staff.
Evidence: Staff #2 (Date of Hire: 9/15/2015) did not have eligible fingerprinting results on file.Plan of Correction: Employee #2 did get initial fingerprints done but due to a glitch results were not accurate. Employee #2 will retake fingerprints on Saturday, 2/13/21.
