Technical Assistance:

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the Director COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Further discussion included the change in name to now reflect: Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia.

Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 02/10/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (109) children present, with (20) classroom staff, in (9) groups. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (5) children?s records, (5) staff files, and (3) Board Officer files. These records were submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Standard #:	63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2
Description:	Based on review, 2 of 3 listed Board Officers were missing documentation that each had submitted to fingerprinting in order to obtain the required background check. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (02/10/2021), documentation listing any finding for a fingerprint check was not available for review for the following board officers: B.O. #2, and B.O. #3. 2. Staff #5 confirmed this review on the date of inspection.
Plan of Correction:	Both Board Officers have been directed to obtain a fingerprint check through Fieldprint of Virginia. Once findings are obtained, they shall be shared with the Licensing Inspector, and then placed on file.
Standard #:	63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4
Description:	Based on review, (1 of 5) background checks for employees, and (1 of 3) background checks for Board Officers, where either have lived outside the Commonwealth of Virginia within the last (5) five years did not have this documentation available. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (02/10/2021), the following documentation was missing for the following staff or board officer: a. A check of the Sex Offender Registry (SOR) from the State of Oregon for Staff #2 (start date - 11/30/2020); b. A search of the central registry (CPS check) from the District of Columbia (DC), and a criminal record check (CRC) from DC for Board Officer #3. 2. This review was confirmed by Staff #5 on the date of inspection.
Plan of Correction:	All missing documentation shall be obtained, shared with the Licensing Inspector, and placed on file.
