Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on February 8, 2021 and concluded on February 11, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 66 children present and 15 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed four children's records and four staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on a review of children's records, the center failed to ensure that all required information were in children's records.

Evidence:
1. Child #1 only had one emergency contact listed. Date of enrollment for Child #1 was 01/12/2021.
2. Staff verified that there was only one emergency contact listed in Child #1's file.

Plan of Correction: Administration will speak with the parent this evening at pick-up and obtain one other emergency contact.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2
Description: Based on review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that a completed national fingerprint background check was on file for a staff before beginning employment.

Evidence:
1. Staff #1's national fingerprint was dated 08/13/2020. Date of employment for Staff #1 was 08/10/2020.
2. Orientation was dated 08/10/2020.
3. Administration verified the date of employment and date of employment for Staff #1.
4. Administration verified the date that orientation was completed.

Plan of Correction: In the future Administration will not start employment with staff on site or complete any training until a completed national background check is completed and on file.
