Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Pursuant to Executive Order 72 and Order of Public Health Emergency 9 issued December 31, 2020 children ages two through four are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while indoors and outdoors, especially if children are in close contact. This will decrease the risk of COVID-19 transmission when children and caregivers are in close proximity. Pursuant to the Governor?s Executive Order 72 and Order of Public Health Emergency 9, all children
ages five and older and all staff are required to wear face coverings at child care programs while indoors and when outdoors and unable to maintain at least six feet of social distance.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/23/21 and concluded on 02/24/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 68 children present and 12 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A
Description: Based on a record review the center did not ensure each child had a physical examination under the direction of a physician.
Evidence: The center had information on a physical form for child #3, enrolled 04/07/20, however there was not a signature or stamp on the form indicating it was under the direction of a physician.

Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided by the director during the exit interview:
The director will contact the child's parent to obtain a copy of the child's most current physical signed by a physician.
