Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/01/2021 and concluded on 03/03/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 13 children and 3 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 children's records, 2 staff records and 3 medications during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on document review and discussion with the staff, the facility failed to implement a minimum of two shelter-in-place practice drills per year.

Evidence: There was no documentation that a shelter-in place drill was implemented in 2020.

Plan of Correction: Two shelter-in-place drills will be conducted in 2021 in conjunction with Day Light Savings Time.
