This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was conducted on March 3, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were fifty-one children present and twelve staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed four children?s records and four staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on review, facility did not ensure 1 of 4 children have a physical examination within a month of beginning attendance.
Evidence: The record for child #4 (start date January 20, 2020) did not have a physical examination.Plan of Correction: The child has an appointment scheduled and parents will provide a copy of the physical.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on review and interview, facility did not ensure evacuation procedures are practiced monthly.
Evidence: There is not documentation of a completed evacuation drill in February 2021. Director confirmed a drill was not conducted.Plan of Correction: A drill will be done tomorrow and monthly thereafter.
