The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/01/21 and concluded on 03/04/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 49 children present and12 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on observation and interview the center did not have all required emergency supplies.
The center did not have a working, battery-operated flashlight or working, battery-operated radio. The Director confirmed the center did not have these two emergency items.
Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the director during the exit interview.
The center has already ordered a radio and batteries for it and the flashlight.
