This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 3/8/2021 and concluded on 3/10/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 20 children present and seven staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children's records and four staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2 Description: Based on review of staff records the center failed to have a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 has a hire date of 1/27/2021. The center does not have a central registry check on file.Plan of Correction: The director reported that she sent in the central registry request within seven days of hire date but, has not received anything back yet. The director contacted OBI was informed that it must have been lost in the mail, they never received the request. The director will have the staff person resubmit the forms and the director will ensure that if it is not received within 30 days she will contact OBI.
