Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Discussed the additional out of state background search requirements that went into effect 7/1/2021. Provided interstate background chart to the Director to use as a resource along with a chart to assist to determine which background checks are required for new applicants.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A Zoom meeting was conducted with the Director to complete a monitoring inspection. Observation of the Infant Room, Intermediate classroom and the Club Connect classroom was conducted. The children were observed completing on line virtual instruction for the school aged group, engaged in manipulatives and spelling the word "frog" in the intermediate class that coincided with the book "A Frog in the Bog" themed activity. In the Infant room, one infant observed having tummy time with the remaining 3 infants engaged with the one staff present. A review of all medications, random topical ointments, 3 staff records and 5 children's records was completed. Organized recordation noted. All staff and school aged children observed wearing their masks and practicing social distancing. Visual barriers established in each classroom observed to ensure proper social distancing. Thank you for your cooperation with this inspection process. If you should have any questions regarding this inspection please email me at: lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov
