This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 3/25/2021 and concluded on 3/25/2021. The Director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 48 children present with 14 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the Provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-520-B-11 Description: A written allergy care plan has not been obtained for each child with a diagnosed food allergy.
Evidence: Based on a review of health documents, Child #5 has a diagnosed food allergy and has emergency medication kept on site in case of an accidental ingestion of an allergen. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-A Description: Based on record review and interview, staff have not provided documentation of a tuberculosis (TB) screening that took place between 30 days prior to employment at the center and the first date of employment at the center.
Evidence: Staff #1 (date of hire: 3/11/2021) TB screening is dated 11/11/2019. The center Director confirmed that a subsequent TB screening has been completed but the results have not been obtained yet.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
