Completion of the Annual Virginia Health and Safety Update training for child care staff is required annually of subsidy vendors and their staff. This requirement is stated on the vendor agreement (section 7), the subsidy regulation 22VAC40-665-580-H for centers, the Child Care VA website, and the public VDSS website. Subsidy and their training staff update this free training every fiscal year, so providers and facilities are essentially accessing the latest version of the update training at any time.

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
This SHSI was initiated and concluded on 04/09/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (20) children present, with (4) classroom staff, in (3) groups. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable subsidy regulations. No violations were cited.
