This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on April 23, 2021 and concluded on April 26, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 27 children present with eight staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed three children's records, five staff records, and three agents records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on review of evacuation drills, the center failed to ensure that there was a monthly practice evacuation drill completed.
Evidence:
1. There was not an evacuation drill documented for February 2021.
2. Staff verified that there was not an evacuation drill completed in February 2021.Plan of Correction: Administration now plans out and indicates on a calendar the schedule for monthly fire drills to be completed.
