The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services. This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 07/30/2021 and concluded on 08/12/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted using FaceTime. There were 63 children present with 13 staff in direct care supervision. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A 2 newly hired staff records were reviewed as well as medication authorization and storage. Lunch served today was hamburger sliders, bean salad, fruit and milk. Observed infant care, playground shade, the pre-k class and emergency preparation. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law.
