Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interview and a virtual tour of the program.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 9/1/2021 and concluded on 9/2/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 19 children present and 5 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based upon review of two children's records, the facility has not ensured that each child's record includes the names, addresses and phone numbers of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached.
Evidence:
The record provided for child 2 included the name, address and telephone number for only one emergency contact person.

Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
A second emergency contact person was added to the file of child 2. In the future we will ensure that all children's records have at least two emergency contact person's other than the parents.
