This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/27/2021 and concluded on 11/8/2021. The Director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 67 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months to 5 years, with 13 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions, please contact me at shahana.green@doe.virginia.gov.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on a review of staff records, 2 out of 4 staff did not have a copy of the results of a criminal history record information check, a sex offender registry check, and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individuals have resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 (doh: 3/5/2003) did not have an out-of-state search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from state #1 in which the employee has lived in the preceding 5 years.
2. Staff #1 (doh: 3/5/2003) did not have an out-of-state sex offender search from state #1 in which the employee has lived in the preceding 5 years.
3. Staff #3 (doh: 9/7/2021) did not have an out-of-state criminal history check from state #2 in which the employee has lived in the preceding 5 years.Plan of Correction: We will get these done as soon as possible.
