The center demonstrated compliance related to the installation of a carbon monoxide detector.
The new standard became effective on October 13, 2021, but the facility has not yet fully complied with the new requirements.
Technical assistance was offered regarding children with allergies and medications.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/20/21 and concluded on 11/18/21. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 41 children present with 10 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records, 5 staff records and center documents related to emergency procedures were reviewed. Children were observed engaged in the following activities: learning about number patterns, magnets, toileting and handwashing and playing outdoors.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, equipment inside the center was not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence: One toilet in the Hershey's (3 year old) classroom did not have a toilet seat.Plan of Correction: A contractor is scheduled to come out on 11/20/21 to install the toilet seat.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E Description: Based on observation, infant bottles were not dated.
Evidence: Infant milk bottles for Child # 1 were not dated for the day.Plan of Correction: Bottles will be checked for labeling. The bottles were dated during the inspection.
