22VAC40-185 PHYSICAL PLANT.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/09/2021 and concluded on 11/10/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 65 children present and 16 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1. In the school-age room there were 2 cubby shelves that were not secured, posing a tipping hazard.
2. Behind one of the toilets In the 2 year-old bathroom, peeling paint exposing drywall was in reach of children.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided during the exit interview by the program director:
The program director will contact maintenance to secure the cubbies and to fix the peeling paint.
