The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services. Guidance, resources and training links can be found on the new website childcareva.com.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/23/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and an inspection was conducted. No children were in care today due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Currently 42 children are enrolled in core hours and 17 stay for after care. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Two newly hired staff records were reviewed. No prescription medication is on-site. Children bring lunch from home but the center provides PM snack. The program is using the school outdoor yard area rather than the local playground to cut back on potential COVID exposure. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.
