Technical assistance was offered regarding the following: out of state background checks, staff reference checks, VA preservice training for staff.

An in-person renewal inspection was conducted on 12/9/21 from 10:30am to 11:45am. There were 44 children present, ranging in ages from infants to 4 year old, with 11 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed in various supervised and structured activities including but not limited to holiday craft, outdoor play, using floor and table top learning materials. A total of 3 children's records, 3 staff records, medications and emergency drill records were reviewed.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain the results of an out of state central registry findings for an employee within 45 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment was 9/1/21. Staff # 1's record indicated that she has resided in Florida within the last five years.
2. Staff # 1's record did not include the results of an out of state central registry for Florida.Plan of Correction: Will send out and obtain out of state central registry.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Based on records review, the center did not obtain documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening for every employee within 21 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's records indicated that her first day of employment was 9/1/21.
2. Staff # 1's documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening was dated 10/17/21. The screening was not obtained within 21 days of employment.Plan of Correction: Staff member has a current negative TB test.
