Technical Assistance:
New requirements became effective on October 13, 2021. The facility did not comply with the following new requirement: 8VAC20-780-(2)-160-A-1 TB documentation was not submitted at the time of employment; Staff #8 started on 11/01/2021, but TB documentation was dated - 11/08/2021 (after start date).

In efforts to minimize the impact of the hardships experienced by many child care centers across the state, and in good faith of our partnership with them, there is currently a 90-day implementation period, from 10/13/2021 to 01/13/2022. The facility will review this new requirement and work with their Licensing Inspector (LI) to ensure future compliance.

Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program.

This inspection was initiated and concluded on 12/15/2021. The Director was contacted and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 132 children present, ranging from infant to school-age, with 21 classroom staff supervising, within 11 rooms. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records, and 12 staff records were reviewed.

The information gathered during the inspection determined that there was not a violation to an applicable standard, code, and/or law. Therefore, a Violation Notice was not issued.

If you should have any questions, please call or send an email to charlie.perkins@doe.virginia.gov. Thank you.
