The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and
monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the
Virginia Department of Social Services. Guidance, resources and training links can be found on the new website childcareva.com.
The violations listed below reflect the new VDOE codes and standards.

A Monitoring inspection was initiated today. This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were a total of 26 children present with 2 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and staff certifications were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations and were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M Description: Based on review of the center's record of injuries, one injury report was incomplete.
Evidence:
The most recent injury report on file had only one signature. A second staff or a parent signature was not obtained.Plan of Correction: Going forward two signatures will be obtained for all injury reports.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-L Description: Based on staff statements and review of staff certifications, verification that one staff had daily health observation was not found.
Evidence:
No verification was found that the two staff on site had daily health observation training.Plan of Correction: Copies of daily health observations are at the main office. Copies will be maintained at the site.
