Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was conducted on January 24, 2022. There were 29 children present and in the care of 2 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staff qualifications, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programming, special services, special care provisions and emergencies. A total of 3 children's records and 3 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and the violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-I
Description: Based on observation and review of medication and medication paperwork, the center failed to maintain a prescription medication in the original container with the prescription label attached.

Evidence:
1. The prescription medication for Child A was not in the original labeled container showing the medication was dispensed fo Child A from the pharmacy.
2. Staff Member #1 confirmed the emergency medication was not in the box with the prescription label attached.

Plan of Correction: The staff will speak to the parent of the child and make sure to obtain the prescription box for the medication.
