Technical Assistance:
Discussed the need to replace the locked plastic bags that medication is stored in.

Staff need to familiarize themselves with the location of the allergy list.

Please ensure that all documentation is maintained at each site that your substitutes are assigned to.

Comments:
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted today. There were a total of 46 children with 4 staff on site. The children were observed arriving from school dismissal. They were placed in designated groups. One group went to the outside playground and two groups went to the cafeteria for afternoon snack. Hand washing procedures and the process of sanitizing of tables were in place. Some medication on site. Staff certifications were verified. A total of 5 children's electronic records were reviewed. Staff training and background checks are reviewed on an annual basis at the administrative office. Thank you for your cooperation today. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8
Description: Based on review of medications, an allergy care plan was not maintained for one child.
Evidence:
Child #1 has a diagnosed food allergy which requires medication. An allergy care plan was not on file.

Plan of Correction: Staff stated that the care plan form will be given to the parent for the physician to complete.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-D
Description: Based on review of documented evacuation drills, one monthly fire drill was not completed.
Evidence:
No documentation was found that an evacuation drill was completed in January 2022.

Plan of Correction: We are aware that the documentation was missing for January. We will ensure monthly drills are completed and documented.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-M
Description: Based on observation of the children eating snack, some children were walking while eating.
Evidence:
The Licensing Inspector observed approximately 3 children Staff #1's group walking and eating their snack.

Plan of Correction: We will remind all children that they must remain seated while eating and drinking.
