This inspection was conducted by staff using an alternative remote protocol, including phone interview, records review, and a virtual observations. An on-site inspection was not conducted at this time.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted at 10:40am. The program director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 27 children and 7 direct-care staff present. Ratios were in compliance at the time of the inspection. Children were observed working on art projects, playing with blocks, and returning to the building from the outdoor playground. The facility was found to be clean, and classrooms were sufficiently supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Information gathered during the inspection determined there was an area of non-compliance with applicable standards or laws reviewed. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 2 employee records did not include a required background check. Evidence: Staff #10 - There was no documentation of an out-of-state sex offender registry check. Plan of Correction: The check will be completed and a copy sent to the inspector.
