Technical Assistance:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services. The violations listed below reflect the new VDOE codes and standards.

Comments:
An in-person renewal inspection was conducted today after school.
There were 35 children with 5 staff present. 5 staff records were reviewed for specific items only as the full record is reviewed at the main office at another time. 4 children's records were reviewed. See Violation Notice for missing items. Medications, emergency drills, first aid supplies, emergency supplies were all reviewed. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-D
Description: The license posted is not the current license for the facility
Evidence:
The license posted expired March 7, 2021. A modified license was issued March 7, 2021, with an expiration date of March 7, 2022.

Plan of Correction: Received license 2/9/2022. Posted in Parent area.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A
Description: Based on a review of records, one child record does not contain documentation of all required components.
Evidence:
A child with a diagnosed food allergy, documented on the child's physical, does not have an Allergy Action plan on file. (Child 1)

Plan of Correction: Spoke to parent, gave her a copy of our plan of action, waiting for parent to get signed by doctor.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-J-3
Description: Based on a review of records, children with emergency medications are not always in the care of a staff member who has Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification.
Evidence:
3 children at the center that have Epi-pens and other medications on site. No staff member has a current MAT certificate available for review.

Plan of Correction: Received MAT certificate 2/10/22. Sending in email for proof.
