Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on February 28, 2022. There were 93 children present, ranging in ages from one month to 12 years with 16 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on observation, a non absorbent surface is being used for diapering. The diapering surface is not being cleaned using the procedure as outlined in licensing standards.
Evidence
The diapering surface has a tear on the side making it a non absorbent surface.
The diapering surface is not being cleaned using soap and water, pat dried, then spray with bleach and water and air dry.

Plan of Correction: A new pad was ordered before the inspection was completed. The staff will be retrained and the proper procedure will be folllowed.

Description: Based on review, when food is brought from home the food container not all containers were sealed and clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner;
Evidence
In the infant room containers with food brought from home were not all labeled with name and date.

Plan of Correction: Staff will be retrained and all will be clearly labeled.

Description: Based on observation, prepared infant formula in the refrigerator were not all labeled with child's name and date.
Evidence
In the infant room, there were bottles in the refrigerator that were not labeled with today's date.

Plan of Correction: Staff will be retrained and all bottles will be labeled with child's name and date.
