Technical Assistance:

1. Discussed ongoing health and safety practices with regard to the health pandemic. 2. Staff working at another location (on-site for training purposes) should not be counted in the staff:child ratios or permitted to be alone with children, unless their staff record is on-site and in compliance with Virginia requirements.

Comments:

This inspection was conducted by staff using an alternative remote protocol, including phone interview, records review, and a virtual observations. An on-site inspection was not conducted at this time. An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted at 2:06pm. The program director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 85 children and 23 direct-care staff present. Ratios were in compliance at the time of the inspection. Children were observed departing for the day and transitioning into the aftercare program. The facility appeared to be clean, and classrooms were well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Information gathered during the inspection determined there were areas of non-compliance with applicable standards or laws reviewed. Description:	Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 2 of 2 administrative records did not include required out-of-state background checks. Evidence: 1. Owner #1 - There was no documentation of a completed sex offender registry search or child abuse and neglect search for the out-of-state location where the individual resides. 2. Owner #2 - There was no documentation of a completed sex offender registry search, child abuse and neglect search, or criminal record search for the out-of-state location where the individual resides.
