This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 03/01/2022 and concluded on 03/04/2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 3 years to 5 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-140-A Description: Based on record reviews, the facility failed to obtain a copy of a child's physical examination within 30 days of enrollment.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed two children's records. There was no documentation of a physical examination in child record #2. Child's date of enrollment was 01/31/2022.Plan of Correction: The teacher will remind the child's parents that documentation of a physical examination is needed for the child's record.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-C Description: Based on record reviews, the facility failed to obtain a repeat tuberculosis screening on staff every two years.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed two staff records. Staff record #1 contained a tuberculosis screening dated 01/08/2020.Plan of Correction: Staff #1 is scheduled for a physical and tuberculosis screening on 03/11/2022.
