An initial inspection for licensure was concluded on 3/9/2022. The program has not opened yet, therefore there were no children in care and no classroom staff present. The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, planned staffing and supervision, programming, special care, and emergencies.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and two violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

At the playground exit door, there are three concrete steps leading to the ground. There is no railing or handrail in place at these steps.
Plan of Correction: The handrail is already scheduled be installed prior to when children enter care.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-C Description: Based on observations, it was determined that shelter-in-place procedures or maps have not been posted in a location conspicuous to staff and children on each floor of each building.
The emergency evacuation map is posted, however the map does not include shelter-in-place procedures or directions to the appropriate location.
Plan of Correction: The map will be updated by adding the shelter-in-place directions.
