22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education

A renewal inspection was initiated on February 3, 2022 and concluded on March 11, 2022. The site director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 37 children present ages infant through five years old with seven staff. The inspector emailed the site director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed four children?s records and four staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-B-4 Description: Based on record review the center failed to obtain all required out of state background checks.
The information provided for staff record review for staff 1 did not contain any documentation that an out of state search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent was requested and obtained prior to employment. Staff 1 had a documented date of hire as October 25, 2021.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
