This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including phone contacts, documents review, interviews, and a virtual tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was completed on 03/08/22. The director was contacted by phone and virtual inspection was initiated to to review records. There were 30 children present, ranging in ages from three to five, with 9 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records and three staff records were reviewed.
The inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-330-B Description: Based on measurement, the center did not maintain the required resilient surfacing depth in fall zones.
Evidence:
1. The inspector measured less than the 6 inches (approximately 3 inches) of mulch required in the fall zone of the two balance beams, three slides and 1 green climber.Plan of Correction: There is enough mulch on the playground, and it will be spread and or fluffed into the fall zones.
