Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8 Description: Based on interviews and document review, it was determined that a written care plan was not obtained for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.
Child #1 was listed on the Children's Allergy, Food Sensitivities or Dietary Restrictions List; their physical form was reviewed and it was verified that the child has been diagnosed with food allergies. Child #1's record did not include an allergy care plan.
Plan of Correction: The Site Supervisor will give the parents the Food Allergy Action Plan paperwork for each child's physician to complete.
