This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on March 15, 2022 and completed on March 30, 2022. On March 15 there were 41 children present, ranging in age from 8 months to 3 years and in the care of 12 staff members. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staff qualifications, staffing and supervision, programming, special services, medications, special care provisions and emergencies. A total of 3 children's records, 4 complete staff records, and 3 partial staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-A Description: Based on the review of staff records and discussion with staff, two staff members did not complete one of the required orientation trainings.
Evidence:
1. The records for Staff Member #2 and Staff Member #7 did not contain documentation that they had completed the Virginia Department of Education sponsored 10-hour orientation course which must be completed within 90 calendar days of employment. Date of employment for Staff Member #2 was 11/29/2021 and for Staff Member #7 was 11/10/2021.
2. Staff confirmed that the two staff members had not completed the course.Plan of Correction: The staff will take the course within 90 days and in the future all new staff will complete the course within 90 days of hire.
