Standard #: 8VAC20-790-570-2 Description: Based on staff and witness interviews, the vendor failed to inform the department's representative as soon as practicable, but not more than two business days, of any injury to a child while under the vendor's supervision when a referral is made for treatment from a medical professional.
Evidence: During interviews with staff it was reported that child #3 (enrolled 2/7/20) received an injury on July 14, 2021, while at the center and that injury required outside medical care. An outside witness confirmed child #3 received medical treatment and that the center was notified of such on July 14, 2021. Administration reported they were aware of the injury requiring medical attention and confirmed they did not report it to the department's representative.
Plan of Correction: Notify licensing w/in 2 business days of any injury that requires outside medical treatment.
