Comments:
An announced renewal inspection was conducted today from 3:00am-4:15pm. There were 15 children (school age) directly supervised by 2 staff. The physical plant, 2 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Staff records review is completed annually at the administrative office through the County of Loudoun, Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services. Children were observed participating in group play, coloring and completing a My Good Citizen Book activity. There were no medications on-site during the inspection. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The program was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on interviews and document review, it was determined that staff were not aware of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions.

Evidence:
Staff were not aware of all children's food allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions for each child.
Child #1, Child #2 and Child #3 were listed on the Children's Allergy, Food Sensitivities or Dietary Restrictions List; however, only Child #1 was mentioned when staff were asked about children with food allergies, sensitivities or dietary restrictions.

Plan of Correction: The Site staff will review the children's allergies, dietary restrictions and food intolerances.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-D
Description: Based on review of emergency drills and interview, there was no documentation to verify that evacuation drills were practiced monthly.

Evidence:
Evacuation drills were not documented for the months of September, October, November, December 2021 and January 2022.

Plan of Correction: Evacuation drills will be conducted and documented every month.
