Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on April 14, 2022. There were 7 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The physical plant, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, medications, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in circle time and a teacher led activity. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation, not all equipment was maintained in a safe manner.
Evidence:
A plastic log cabin on the playground was observed with several large cracks in the roof and in the doorway.

Plan of Correction: Removal of damaged playhouse.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, not all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
A bottle of spray cleaner was observed in an unlocked cabinet in the front classroom.

Plan of Correction: Cabinet locked. Reminded staff and parents. RE: Locking cabinets
