Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, new administration at the center, carbon monoxide detector, and medications kept on site.
- Comments:

This monitoring inspection was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 04/22/2022, between the hours of 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. There were 78 preschool children present, with 15 classroom staff supervising, in a total of 7 different groups. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration; physical plant; staffing and supervision; programming; medication; special care and emergencies; and nutrition. A total of 5 children records were reviewed. Staff records will be reviewed on a later date on site at the PRCS main office in Leesburg.
Information gathered during the inspection determined that there was (1) non-compliance with an applicable standard. This violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-E Description: Based on review, the center had one medication that did not follow the procedures for administering.
Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (04/22/2022), the duration of authorization for the medication on site for Child #1 had expired. The authorization dates listed on this form were from 01/04/2021 to 01/04/2022.
2. Medication on site for Child #1 was outdated. This medication was observed in its container with an expiration date listed as 13 Jan 2022. The box was still sealed.Plan of Correction: Both medication and authorization will be returned to the child's parent. Parent was contacted by phone on date of inspection (04/22/2022).
