Discussed reviewing the new CDC standards that became effective 10-13-2021 and the new website (Child Care VA) https://www.doe.virginia.gov/cc/.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and an in person tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on May 9, 2022 and concluded on May 10, 2022. There were 43 children present, ranging in ages from 4 months to age 5, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 4 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-440-B Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure cribs, cots, rest mats, and beds shall be identified for use by a specific child.
Evidence: During the inspection, in the infant room there was an infant, child #3 sleeping in a crib identified for use by another child.Plan of Correction: Staff member will be retrained.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-520-C Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure if diaper ointment or cream is used the products shall be labeled with a child's name.
Evidence: During the inspection, in the infant room 4 diaper creams were reviewed and one was not labeled with a child's name.Plan of Correction: Staff member will be retrained.
