The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and
monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the
Virginia Department of Social Services.

An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted. All rooms were in ratio with direct care staff supervising. Observed 3 classrooms, children transitioning to hand washing and lunch (provided from home), a sample of staff record and medication authorizations. Emergency medication is on-site with several staff having current Medication Administration Training certification. Emergency drills are up to date and staff have required First Aid/CPR certification and Daily Health Observation. Rooms are well equipped with Montessori materials and equipment to enhance the curriculum. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law.
