An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the Director on May 25, 2022 beginning at 11:20 AM and ending at 1:00 PM. There were 48 children in the care of 9 staff. The children were observed eating lunch which consisted of chicken nuggets, mixed vegetables, mixed fruit, and milk. Five children?s records and five staff records were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were observed and in compliance. The most recent emergency evacuation drill was documented as April 11, 2022. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as February 22, 2022. The most recent health inspection was dated February 16, 2022. The most recent fire inspection was dated April 14, 2021.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-80-A Description: Based on review of the attendance record, the center did not ensure that the written record of daily attendance documented the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurred. Evidence: The attendance record in the 3/4 year old classroom had 12 children signed in but 13 children were physically present. The attendance record in the 4/5 year old classroom had 12 children signed in but 11 children were physically present. Plan of Correction: The director spoke to the staff in each class regarding recording arrival and departures of children as it occurs on the attendance record during the inspection.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-A Description: Based on a review of documentation, the center did not obtain annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction. Evidence: The most recent fire inspection was dated April 14, 2021. Plan of Correction: The director will contact the Fire Marshal's Office to schedule a fire inspection for the center.
