An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 3:50pm until 4:20pm. There were 25 children directly supervised by 2 staff. The physical plant, 2 staff emergency training and emergency information records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in an end of the year party. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
During the inspection the kitchen door was observed to be propped open. An inspection of the kitchen revealed containers of bleach and cleaners located on open shelves.Plan of Correction: We will keep the door to the kitchen locked.
